COUDENBERG SOUND BOX FEST: Anthony Romaniuk & Traffik Klassik
COUDENBERG SOUND BOX FEST 24
UNITED IN DIVERSITY: A Consort of Different Genres
Sunday 24 November 18.30 PERPETUUM – The eternal quest for authentic sound
- Anthony Romaniuk: virginal, harpsichord & electro-acoustic keyboard (AU)
- Traffik Klassik: Dirk Vandaele - Baroque violin, Manuela Bucher - Baroque viola, Michel Boulanger - Baroque cello (BE)
Music by J. S. Bach, H. Purcell, E. Satie, improvisations et al.
Surrounded by an array of keyboards, Anthony Romaniuk seamlessly blends a repertoire spanning centuries, creating an uninterrupted flow of music. Through this perpetual motion, familiar compositions are revealed in a fresh, innovative light. He will perform in Coudenberg for the first time several pieces from his recent albums Perpetuum (Alpha, Outhere Music) offering a truly unique experience in sound.
Founded in 2015 by cellist Michel Boulanger, Traffik Klassik performs for the first time at Coudenberg Palace, presenting a selection from J.S. Bach's famous Goldberg Variations: Goldberg in pocket form. The string trio arrangement performs on historical instruments and sheds new light on the work, giving both the beloved Aria and the variations a more vocal and human quality.
