reConciliations: War & Peace
Sunday 22nd of November 18:30. InAlto + AkroPercu
Rumbling Before Peace - Early Music, Percussions & Acrobatics
InAlto
Alice Foccroulle - soprano | Lambert Colson - cornet | Marie Rouquié & Gabriel Grosbard - violins | Adam Woolf - trombone | Anaïs Ramage, dulciane | Justin Glaie - theorbo | Marc Meisel - organ & harpsichord
Against the backdrop of the devastation of the Thirty Years' War, InAlto, under the direction of Lambert Colson, explores how 17th-century German composers, such as Heinrich Schütz, transformed periods of profound social and spiritual upheaval into an intimate message of hope, conversion, and anticipation through Advent. By weaving together works by Schütz, Scheidt, Biber, and Theile the programme illustrates how baroque masters used music to heal and unite a broken society.
AkroPercu
Max Charue, Julien Mairesse & Thomas Delplancq, Percussions & Acrobatics
AkroPercu brings their tried-and-tested, highly successful show, adapted for the very first time to the underground galleries of Coudenberg. On stage, three mischievous percussionist-actors transform everyday items—from simple sleeping bags to toothbrushes—into surprising musical instruments. Conceived as a true exploration of "percussive light," this performance elevates lighting, by use of fluorescent and magic lamps, to the rank of a full-fledged fourth member of the ensemble. It gives a visual and musical shape to the infinite poetry of rhythm.
