Enhancing the value of lost heritage through digital technology

As part of a partnership between the Coudenberg Palace and the Société du patrimoine urbain de Québec / Îlot des Palais, a series of webinars and two study days are planned for 2025 and 2026 to delve deeper into the enhancement of lost heritage through digital means. The aim of these meetings is to encourage the exchange of best practices between players from the museum and heritage world, while providing a practical immersion in current applications of digital technology for heritage enhancement. These activities fall within the framework of the collaboration between Coudenberg Palace and the Société du patrimoine urbain de Québec / Îlot des Palais and will therefore take place only in French.

This initiative enjoys the support and cooperation of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles Internationale and the Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication of the Quebec government.

Webinars

Winter 2025 (13/02): during this webinar, a case study was presented by a Walloon company specialising in the development of digital tools and exporting its know-how. A professor of museology and a doctoral student presented a number of case studies from Quebec. All with a focus on highlighting experiences and practices in digital enrichment. Discussions focused on immersive technologies, the use of AI to convey memories and the ethical and budgetary issues involved.

You can watch the discussions or consult a summary of the speakers' presentations and the Q&A session that followed.
